Summary
Physique pour Tous !
Physics for Everyone offers evening physics courses aimed at the general public, from high school students to retirees, with the only required mathematical background being that of the end of middle school (important concepts will be reviewed and re-explained!), and the only required physical knowledge being everyday experience and intuition.
Physics for Everyone is an initiative by teacher-researchers and researchers from the Hubert Curien Multidisciplinary Institute (IPHC) and the Faculty of Physics & Engineering at the University of Strasbourg (Unistra), with the support of the Faculty of Physics & Engineering and the Jardin des Sciences.
The goal of Physics for Everyone is to go beyond "simple" science popularization lectures to develop participants' critical thinking and analytical skills. The courses are organized around the study of physical phenomena drawn from our shared everyday experiences, cinema, or literature, and will help in understanding the scientific approach in general. Experiments are conducted in some courses to support the concepts covered.
In total, 5 different modules, each consisting of 3-5 courses, are offered each year. Each module is independent: it is only recommended to participate in all the courses of a given module.
