Go abroad

If you are student at the Faculty of Physics and Engineering and you are interested in going abroad, here are the various forms of mobility:

  • Study mobility
    • Study in Europe via ERASMUS+ (1 or 2 semesters)
    • Study in Europe via Eucor or EPICUR (Credits)
    • Studying outside Europe through cooperation agreements
  • « Virtual » mobility
  • Internship mobility

You'll find further explanations in the sections below.

Important: It's important to be aware that a mobility project covers different aspects: educational, administrative and financial. Such a project needs to be planed and prepared well in advance. To know more about the procedure to follow, you can read the vademecum  prepared for this (see useful documents below).

Study mobility

If you're planning to study abroad for 1 or 2 semesters, in or outside Europe, you'll need to take the necessary steps well in advance, starting in the first semester of the year « N » before you plan to go abroad, in order to start your mobility project in the first semester of year « N+1 ». The main steps can be consulted in the following list :

 Planning a mobility project
  • The Faculty of Physics and Engineering has numerous cooperation agreements with foreign institutions. Some of these agreements are in the process of being renewed, but the list of partner institutions can be consulted on the moveon website.
  • A mobility student enrolled in the Faculty of Physics and Engineering is exempt from paying tuition fees to the host University.
  • Student exchanges are based on the recognition of credits acquired during the mobility period at a partner institution.
  • Students on a study mobility program must therefore plan a study contract before their departure, listing the courses in the host university that would replace "equivalent" local courses had they remained at the Faculty of Physics and Engineering. If you are aware of your plans to continue your studies at our faculty and have identified one or more destinations (several wishes can be formulated), you should contact the N+1 course coordinator as soon as possible, and also inform our international relations department, for help in your project.

Your study contract must be approved by the N+1 course coordinator and the faculty exchange coordinator (prior to application), then by the partner institution (after selection by the University of Strasbourg).

Please note: some foreign establishments require a certain level of language proficiency, which may have to be validated by a certificate.

 Submission of applications

Deadlines are summarized below:

 Selection

The University and faculty have a limited number of places available, depending on the agreements. After receiving the opinion of our faculty's international relations correspondent, the International Relations Department selects the applications. Various criteria are taken into account when granting applications:

  • The candidate's motivation and the relevance of the mobility to the academic/professional project
  • The candidate’s academic performance
  • Language skills

You will be informed by e-mail if one of your choices has been approved.

 Scholarships attribution

Mobility projects include a considerable financial component. To help students with their plans, the University of Strasbourg has compiled a list of different types of financial aid, depending on your situation and your project. You may only be eligible for some of these possibilities.

 Mobility

During your stay abroad, you may need to talk to your course coordinator and the faculty's Internation Relations correspondent about modifying your study contract if you have problems following the one already in place.

 Validation of results

The results obtained abroad will be validated by an "International Relations" jury including the coursecoordinator.

Study mobility via EPICUR and Eucor-campus

The University of Strasbourg is part of two strategic groups of European higher education institutions, the European Alliance EPICUR and Eucor - The European Campus, which offer unique opportunities for the entire academic community. For more information, we invite you to consult the documents below.

    Internship mobility

It is possible to do an internship abroad:

    • In addition, there are a number of financial aids to which you may be entitled, depending on your situation. In all cases, we recommend that you take the necessary administrative steps well in advance.
    • It is required that to keep your course coordinator and the International Relations Department informed for the validation of your project.
