Description

In this course the student should acquire the basic concepts of turbulence:

  • Definition of turbulence;
  • Reynolds averaging;
  • Boussinesq concept;
  • Turbulent boundary layer;
  • Modelling : form 0 to 7 seven equations modelling, Large Eddy Simulation, Hybrid RANS/LES modelling;
  • Best practice guidelines in turbulence modelling.

Compétences visées

  • To understand the concepts of turbulent flow;
  • To assimilate the turbulence modelling from 0 to 7 equations.
