Phénomènes critiques et physique statistique hors-équilibre
Master PhysiqueParcours Astrophysics and Data Science
Description
Applications of advanced concepts in statistical physics to the theory of critical phenomena beyond the mean-field approach.
Compétences visées
• Applying knowledge in physics;
• Apply methods from mathematics and digital technology;
• Produce a critical analysis, with hindsight and perspective;
• Communicate in writing and orally, including in English;
• Respect ethical, professional and environmental principles in the practice of physics.
Syllabus
I-Percolation (of links, of sites), Real-space renormalization of percolation networks.
II-Renormalisation in real space (spin systems) and how to compute the critical exponents from renormalization schemes.
III-Ginzburg-Landau models. Statistical approach to fields. Renormalisation and scaling behaviour (if enough time...)
