Description
An overview of the principles of observation in modern astrophysics and how it can be used to study the properties of astrophysical objects.

Syllabus
- Imaging and exploitation of observations:
- direct imaging, interferometry, applications.
- UV, optical, infrared, radio and mechanisms of emission of continuum in these domains.
- Photometry (Hertzsprung-Russell diagram and stellar evolution, morphology of galaxies ...);
- Observations in spectroscopy: principles of spectrographs.
- Transmission and absorption mechanisms of spectral lines, bases of radiation transfer.
- Exploitation (expansion of the Universe, 21 cm line of hydrogen and gas kinematics, diagnosis of physical conditions and chemical composition ...);
