Computer science for quantum technologists
Master PhysiqueParcours Quantum technologies - European program
Description
Short description:
The numerical simulation of quantum dynamics on classical computers is an essential tool for quantum technology. Not only is it necessary to model experimental quantum technology setups, it also allows to benchmark/verify a potential quantum advantage compared to classical hardware. Here, we will take a tour through basic computer science. A focus will be on numerical algorithms for simulating quantum dynamics, both in open and closed environments. We will touch topics like: Exact diagonalization, mean-field approximations, Krylov space techniques, quantum trajectories, and more.
