Continuum Mechanics : large deformations formalism

Continuum Mechanics : large deformations formalism
Master Physique appliquée et ingénierie physiqueParcours Modélisation mécanique pour l'énergie et l'environnement

Description

In this course the student should acquire the basic knowledge in solid mechanics :

  • Fundamentals for plasticity of metals and polymers and phenomenological aspects of the plastic flow behaviour;
  • Presentation of constitutive equations in plasticity and visco-plasticity and the numerical modelling of these theories (application to metals and polymers);
  • Introduction to damage behaviour of materials;
  • Special emphasis in the implementation of different material models into octave scripts or FORTRAN/python codes.

Compétences visées

  • Assimilate the main concept of material behaviour.
